Lots available for building a custom home are going fast in both Vaquero and Terra Bella, two of the most sought-after communities in Northeast Tarrant County. With outstanding amenities and access to some of the best schools in the state, these communities offer great opportunities.

Last year, eager buyers purchased 53 lots in Vaquero. There are 11 available. Out of a total of 28 lots in Terra Bella, eight remain.

“There are few communities in the area with the quality of Vaquero and its amenities. If you are thinking about building in Vaquero, you should move quickly,” said Jeff Watson with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.

Vaquero is built around a world-class Tom Fazio designed golf course with a teaching center, and includes tennis, fishing, swimming, spa services, concierge type services and an active family social environment.

Terra Bella has 23 acres of open space with most of the lots backing to a greenbelt. Inside this gated and heavily treed community is a pond, a creek and walking trails that run through the open space.

“It is getting more and more difficult to find good lots in the area, and we would anticipate being sold out in Terra Bella this year,” said Wynne Moore with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.

Both communities have established architectural guidelines designed to ensure that a home built in the next year will maintain its value. And with the current amount of new home construction it is expected that finishing a new house will take architects and builders at least a year.
