Buyers Heading to Westlake
November 6th, 2014 | by Michelle
More than 1,000 people move to North Texas every day, say recent reports from the Dallas Regional Chamber, and many are looking west for neighborhoods that offer great schools, appealing home values and welcoming communities.
Among their top choices is the town of Westlake, which experienced job growth of almost 3 percent over the last 12 months with more than 41 percent predicted over the next 10 years. As jobs move to Westlake, so do people—almost 1,100 people live in this sophisticated town where median homes cost just over $1,000,000, a 10 percent increase in the last year.
One of the main factors drawing families to the area is the nationally acclaimed Westlake Academy, a city-run, public charter school with an International Baccalaureate program—all set on rolling hills that were once verdant ranchland.
Another strong draw for the area is Vaquero, a private, gated and guarded community with a Tom Fazio-designed golf course, spa, fitness center, tennis clubhouse, trails and custom homes that CEOs, athletes and influencers are pleased to call home.
