Sure, it’s nice to travel during summer break … but, sometimes, you just want to enjoy what you can find close to home. So we’ve compiled a list a great things to do in North Texas that’ll take only a short car ride. (Or even a short walk!) When you live in a state as great as Texas, there’s no need to go far for a great vacation! – By Susan Haney

When you have a craving for some natural beauty – or at least a break from icy air conditioning, these attractions will satisfy your need to play outside:

Catch a game at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington

Pick your own blueberries at the Blueberry Hill Farm in Edom, or pick peaches and blackberries at the Ham Peach Orchard east of Terrell.

Stop and smell the flowers at the Dallas Arboretum in Dallas or enjoy their Cool Thursdays Concert Series.
